The Parliament of the Balearic Island has approved the new “tax on sustainable tourism” for all tourists travelling to the Balearics from 01/05/2018 onwards. The tax has to be paid directly to the hotel/apartment upon arrival and will apply as follows: 4 star superior, 5 star and 5 star gran luxe hotels and aparthotels: 4,00€ + 10% VAT per person per day 3 star superior and 4 star hotels and aparthotels: 3,00€ + 10% VAT per person per day 1, 2 and 3 star hotels and aparthotels: 2,00€ + 10% VAT per person per day 4 key and 4 key superior apartments: 4,00€ + 10% VAT per person per day 3 key superior apartments: 3,00€ + 10% VAT per person per day 1, 2 and 3 key apartments: 2,00€ + 10% VAT per person per day Rural hotels, agroturism and hostelry: 2,00€ + 10% VAT per person per day Hostels, hostel residences, inns and camping: 1,00€ + 10% VAT per person per day Cruise ships: 2,00€ + 10% VAT per person per day Discounts: - 75% discount for all stays in low season (01/11 until 30/04) - 50% discount from the 9th day onwards for all stays superior to 8 days in the same hotel/establishment, also valid after low season discount. In the vicinity of the sandy beach lies the hotel Hipotels Hipocampo **** Adults Only. There is a shuttle between the hotel and the airport (for a fee).
